Properly no 10, this is a 1919 Thornycroft J fitted with a Dodson body from a L.G.O.C. "B type" bus in 1926. Renumbered 1 when retained as a museum piece. Pictured August 1991 in the care of Transit Holdings Blue Admiral Co. Transit funded a thorough overhaul of the vehicle. (Photo and Text Malcolm Audsley)

A 1944 Bedford OWB pictured in wartime grey livery. Sold in 1963 the remains of the original body were replaced in the early 1990s with a replica body partly built by Ulsterbus who were resroring a similar vehicle. 115orv982.jpg (32573 bytes) 115 (ORV 982) is a 1957 Metro Cammell bodied Leyland PD2/40. In the photo it is pictured in Festing Road Southsea on Route B. The trolleybus routes were always numbered and motor bus routes used letters until trolleybuses were withdrawn

The Titan TD4 o/toppers were replaced in the early 1970's by the conversion of 6 1956 Titan PD2/12 to open top. They lasted until 1980 when Atlanteans replaced them. 2 was kept as a special event / private hire bus, seen at Southsea rally in June 1983.

A 1933 Leyland Titan TD2 rebuilt in 1952 as a tower wagon to maintain trolleybus overhead. Owned by Portsmouth City Museums since 1975 and until closure in March 2003 part of the CPPTD Museum at Broad St. Pictured on March 9th 2003.

pompey 54_1.jpg (73128 bytes) 54 (EBK 587) Added 09/05/08  In 1949 Portsmouth took delivery of 25 Crossley DD42/7 double deckers, with bodywork by the same builder,which were numbered 29-42/47-57 (EBK 566-590). In the late 1950s the whole batch were given Leyland 8.6 litre engines from withdrawn pre-war Titans. No.54(EBK 587) is seen here in Methuen Road just about to turn into the rear of Eastney garage.
